Monastery Driving Directions
The Monastery is located off of HWY 287 and County Road 4270.
From the intersection of 45 and 287
Go south on HWY 287 towards PalestineDrive approximately 19.8 miles
(Drive through Mildred, Eureka, cross over the Richland Chambers Bridge)
The Monastery is located approximately 3.5 miles south of the HWY 287 Richland Chambers Lake Bridge on HWY 287. DO NOT TURN LEFT AT THE SIGN POINTING TOWARDS KERENS – 309)
Continue on 287 past the 309 turn until you reach County Road 4270 (there will be a large sign CATHOLIC BENEDICTINE MONASTERY) with an arrow pointing left
Make a left turn on 4270 until you reach the first gravel road which will be 4271
Turn right on 4271 and follow the road into the Monastery grounds)
This will take you to the Monastery Residence.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE HOLY RELICS CHAPEL OR THE PAVILION, PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS:
Do not turn left on County Road 4270.
Instead, continue straight on HWY 287 until you see the sign Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam with an arrow pointing left. This is Monastery Way.
Make a left on Monastery Way and follow the gravel road
Do not enter the Monastery grounds through the entrance marked “Camping”
Follow the gravel road towards the right of the fence line until you see St. Paul’s Gate
Turn left, drive through the gate, and you will see the pavilion and kitchen in front of you
You can park in the area in front of the pavilion or in the grassy area
You can reach the Holy Relics Chapel by following the sidewalk past the restrooms and St. Scholastica Garden
